Where I should add this search engine code for menu dropdown?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , — admin @ 2:10 pm

Q:

Doesn’t this mean that I have to add this search engine code to all of my
sites pages?  If so this could be tedious when adding additional
pages to a large site.Is this something I can adjust …or make submenus were you can’t see through them?

A:

Unfortunately it is really so. You should paste search engine code on
the each page with the menu dropdown.

If you don’t want to create your menu (and add search engine friendly
code) on each page, you can try to use frames, the menu dropdown has a cross-frame mode. Also you can use a
server-side script (php, asp, vb, etc.) to generate html pages from
templates on your server.

DESCRIPTION OF DELUXE MENU
  • Double click on the one of the predefined

    templates to apply it to your menu

  • When the submenu is larger than the
    visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically scrolled. You can
    also use scrollbar to see all submenu items
  • Build menus completely based on
    Cascading Style Sheets. It is possible to appoint the individual CSS styles for
    separate elements of the menu.

  • The link in the html list menu doesn’t work.

    Q:

    I have set the ‘Home’ page link from
    the top level of the html list menu ‘Item style’ top Item, to link to my Index
    page, but the link doesn’t work. Is there a special way to set links
    from the main menu headings?

    A:

    You cannot use links for the main items in the XP style.

    But you can try to do the following things for your “Home” item:

    ["<a href='index.html' class='home'>Home</a>","", "", "", "", "Return to Index page", "", "0", "", ],

    And create styles
    .home{
    color: #FFFFFF;}
    .home:hover{
    color: #FFBEBE;}

    Q:

    I am evaluating various menu systems and need to know if your supports

    key navigation, like alt-F to select a vertical menu css?

    A:

    Deluxe Menu has keystrokes support.

    Use the following parameter to enable keystrokes support:

    0 - disabled (default), 1 - enabled.

    Ctrl+F2 - enter the menu/switch to next menu on the page.
    Arrow keys - navigate.
    Enter - enter the menu.
    Esc - exit the vertical menu css.

    Use also the following parameters:

    Works with Ctrl key only.

    Does your license for collapsible menus need to be tied to a domain name to work?

    Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , — admin @ 10:00 pm

    Q:

    I use your deluxe menu for my personal website and want to use it
    for a client site that we are putting together at work. However,
    there is one challenge. Some of the sites we build for our clients
    are internal only and do not have a proper domain name. In the case
    of my current client, the site answer to a servername call from
    within the network. Eg. http://WebServer1/ . They will NOT have a
    proper domain name (eg www.mysite.com). So, my question is, how can
    we purchase a license for the collapsible menus and have this work? Does your licensing need
    to be tied to a domain name to work? Also, the client has not yet
    confirmed the server name. How will this work?

    A:

    You need to register the hostname of the website (as appears in the URL, for example
    http://yourintranet/ , http://WebServer1/).

    In you case you should register “WebServer1″.

    < Does your licensing need to be tied to a domain name to work?
    Single and Multiple Website licenses are bound to a domain name.
    Developer License - this version of the script doesn’t check keys and it isn’t bound to a domain name,
    so it can be used with an application that doesn’t have a fixed domain name.

    For your new client you can buy Single Website License. You can also
    upgrade to Multiple Website license for the price difference and generate your own keys for the
    clients or you can upgrade to Developer License.

    The menu bar script always shows up at the very top of the page…

    Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , — admin @ 6:40 pm

    Q:

    Your service is excellent and I am making progress learning the program. I was able to resolve
    the transparency issue thanks to your help but, but now I have another one that is stumping me.

    I can get the menu bar script to show up in my html document and it works as I hoped it would. However, no
    matter where I put the line of code in my html file, the menu bar script
    always shows up at the very top of
    the page. The instructions indicate the following:

    Copy the following code into clipboard and paste it into the place you want to have the menu bar script:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="newmenu2.js"></script>

    For example, into a table cell:
    <table>
    <td><script type="text/javascript" src="newmenu2.js"></script></td>
    </table>

    No matter where I put the code: <script type="text/javascript" src="newmenu2.js"></script>, the
    menu shows up at the top of the page.

    What am I missing?

    A:

    Check that you’re using relative position for the menu bar script:

    var absolutePos=0;
    var posX=”0px”;
    var posY=”0px”;

    If there is more information about setting links in a navigation menu to selected frame pages?

    Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , — admin @ 3:25 pm

    Q:

    There is a portion of my site that is set to produce frames and I
    was wondering if there is more information about setting links in a
    navigation menu to selected frame pages?

    A:

    You can specify target parameter for each item in navigation menu individually.

    For example you can specify the name of the frame in the menuItems where you would like
    to open your link:

    ["|Home","testlink.htm", "default.files/icon1_s.gif", "default.files/icon1_so.gif", "", "Home Page Tip", "frame", "", "", "", ],

    I need to be able to either automatically wrap the line in the navigation web site

    Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , — admin @ 12:05 pm

    Q:

    I’m evaluating a copy of deluxe-tree and have a question about long
    items. I need to be able to either automatically wrap the line to fit
    the width given in the tmenuWidth variable or insert line breaks as I
    see fit.

    At the moment I have found that I can insert the <br> tag to force a
    line to break but it messes up the space after the navigation web site, if I have
    several one after the other then they will sit close together. If I
    add a at the beginning of the menu entry then the space before
    is bigger than the default.

    Is there any easy way around this?

    A:

    Try to set the following parameter:
    var tnoWrap=0;
